Day 1/ Arrival
Arrival at Zvartnots International Airport in Yerevan. Meet and greet, transfer to the hotel. Have a leisure day in one of the most beautiful cities in the world –Yerevan is also known as a Pink City. Take an opportunity to have a night tour in the Republic Square, accompanied by singing fountains and the beautiful panoramic scene of downtown. Late in the evening return to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel in Yerevan.
Day 2/ Yerevan City Tour(Armenia History Museum, Cascade Complex, Presidental residence, Tsisernakaberd Memorial Complex, Megerian Carpet)
After the breakfast city tour will be started from the History Museum of Armenia. It is regarded as Armenia’s national museum and has a national collection of 400,000 objects. Visit the Cascade Complex. It is a giant stairway made of limestone. Then after a short walk visit, Presidential Residence opened to the public only in 2018 by Vice-President NikolPashinyan after the Velvet Revolution. Drive to Tsisernakaberd MemorialComplexdedicated to the victims, who have been massacred by the Turkish government during the Armenian Genocide. The day will be finished in Megerian Carpet, where we have a tour and try carpet weaving and “Armenian traditional dish making*(optional) master classes. Here Welcome dinner is provided. Return to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 3/Yerevan – Arujqarvansaray – Gyumri– Yerevan
After breakfast at the hotel move to Arujqarvansaray.ArujKarvansarayis one of the most ancient types of hotels and the village itself is one of the oldest settlements of Armenia, which hosted some tourists from ancient times. Then move to the Gyumri-cultural central of Armenia. It is also known as the second capital city, the center of humor, the birthplace of talents and Olympic champions. Here in VardanantssquareChathedral of Holy Mother of God(also known as Church of 7 Wounds)is situated. After visiting the Dzitoghcyan Museum(Museum of National Architecture and Urban Life) to get acquainted with the local’s traditions, lifestyle, houses decorating styles and etc. Walk down the old streets of Gyumri and listen to the guide stories about all famous people and streets. In the evening drive to Black fortress. The fortress is a 360-degree round structure made of black stone, from which it got its name. After return to Yerevan.Overnight at the hotel in Yerevan.
Day 4/Yerevan – Tsaghkadzor – Sevanavank Monastery – Dilijan –Yerevan
After breakfast at the hotel drive to the Resort town Tsaghkadzorvisit a medieval Armenian monastic complex Kecharis dating back to the 11th to 13th centuries. Drive to Tsaghkadzorropeway (optional*) to have a unique experience at the top of Mount Teghenis. After having a stop near Lake Sevan to visit “Black Pearl” of Armenia – Sevanavank Monastery (9th century). Then move to the “Green Queen” Dilijan, also known as a Little Switzerland. Have a short walk in Old Dilijan and move to find hidden-in-the-forest Haghartsin Monastery (13th monastery). After this memorable day return to Yerevan. Overnight at the hotel in Yerevan.
Day 5/ Leisure Day
Have free time on this day. If desired an interesting entertainment can be organized.
Day 6/Yerevan – KhorVirap– Jermuk–Tatev Monastery- Yerevan
After breakfast at the hotel have a trip to the heart of the Ararat Valley. Have the first stop in the monastery of KhorVirap, with a fantastic scene to the biblical mountain ARARAT and Ararat valley. Move to resort town Jermuk and have a stop in Jermuk Water gallery to taste fresh mineral water. Later, continue to the Syunik region to have another big adventure. Visit Tatev monastery (9th-century), which if desired, can be reached with the help of “Wings of Tatev” known as Tatev Ropeway (optional*). It is the longest reversible cableway in the world (5752 m), recorded in the Guinness Book of Records. After reaching the monastery a picturesque view “Monastery in the Mountains’’ will appear to you. It is a 9th-century Armenian Apostolic monastery located on a large basalt plateau near the Tatev village. In the 14th and 15th centuries, the monastery hosted one of the most important Armenian medieval universities, the University of Tatev, which contributed to the advancement of science, religion, and philosophy, reproduction of books and development of miniature painting. After this informative tour move to Yerevan.Overnight at the hotel in Yerevan.
Day 7/ Yerevan – Garni–Geghard- Yerevan
After breakfast at the hotel start the tour by visiting the only remaining pagan temple of Armenia – Garni. Near the temple in a very traditional setting have master classes of lavash baking, pottery, and dried fruit making. After this unforgettable cultural experience transfer to medieval Geghard Monastery. The monastery originally named Ayrivank having the meaning “the Monastery of the Cave” is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site with enhanced protection status. Later return to Yerevan. Visit Vernisaj for shopping (optional*). Also visit “Old Bazaar” which is now the modern supermarket, where you can find eatable souvenirs. Overnight at the hotel in Yerevan.
