Feel The Taste Of Armenia

Day1/ Yerevan

Arrival at Zvartnots International Airport in Yerevan.  Meet and greet by the Best Tour representative. Transfer to the hotel. Have a leisure day in one of the most beautiful cities in the world –Yerevan is also known as a Pink City. In the evening take an opportunity to have a night tour in the Republic Square, accompanied by singing fountains and the beautiful panoramic scene of downtown. Late in the evening return to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 2/Yerevan City Tour (Erebuni Museum,  Ararat Brandy Factory, Republic Square, Cascade Complex, Megerian Carpet)

After breakfast at the hotel visit the Erebuni Museum, also known as Arin Berd – a fortified city from the ancient kingdom of Urartu. Here some ancient collections are introduced. Later visit the Ararat brandy factory to get acquainted with its history and enjoy the taste of Armenian brandy. Move to Yerevan Republic square – the real city center of Yerevan. After visit Cascade Complex. It is a giant stairway made of limestone. In the evening drive to the most traditional place of Yerevan – Megerian Carpet to master carpet weaving and traditional dish making (optional*). Return to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel in Yerevan.

Day 3/ Yerevan-Garni -Fish House – Geghard Monastery

After the breakfast move to Garni-Geghard. The history of Garni temple goes back to the ancient times, it was the summer residence of Armenian kings starting from 3-1 BC. Near the temple have a master class of lavash baking, Visit Fish House and taste Armenian worldwide known trout. Next, head to Geghard Monastery, a site included in UNESCO’s would heritage listing. Later, return to Yerevan. Visit Vernisaj or “Old Bazaar” for shopping, where find traditional Armenian souvenirs. If desired, an evening entertainment can be organized. Overnight at the hotel in Yerevan.

Day 4/ Yerevan-Khor Virap -Noravank – Areni 1 Cave –Areni Winery – Areni Wine Fest 2019

After breakfast at the hotel have a trip to the heart of the Ararat Valley. Have the first stop in the monastery of Khor Virap, with a fantastic scene to the biblical mountain ARARAT and Ararat valley. After Khor Virap head to the wine-making center of Armenia – Areni region, on the way stop to admire unique two-story Noravank monastery (13th century). Later visit Areni 1 Cave, also known as  “Birds Cave”. It is one of the earliest inhabitated sights in Armenia. Knives, metal tools, and other items have been found in the cave dating back to 4200-3500 BC. A leather shoe more than 5500 years old was also found here, thus being the oldest leather shoe discovered in the world. Also the oldest winery in the world is situated there. After driving to Areni village. At modern “Old Areni” winery have a unique experience of touring a winery and tasting various wines. Spend your time in participating in Areni Wine Fest, try wines of locals. If desired you can buy coupons that allow you to taste the wines of Armenian factories.  Enjoy Armenian folk dance and music and return to Yerevan with unforgettable experiences and memories. Overnight at the hotel in Yerevan.

Day 5/Yerevan – Saghmosavank – Ashtarak – Gastro&Wine Yard – Yerevan

After breakfast at the hotel move to Ashtarak – the unique gastro & wine center of Armenia. Visit medieval monastic complex Saghmosavank (13th century) with the fantastic view to the precipitous gorge carved by the Kasagh river. After, locals try typical Armenian dishes and have a degustation of homemaking wine. Spend nice time at their garden, with a colorful and joyful atmosphere. Later return to Yerevan. Overnight at the hotel in Yerevan.

Day 6/Departure

Breakfast at the hotel. Check out & transfer to the airport.
